After years of development, PKLYN opened its five-court pickleball club in Brooklyn’s Gowanus neighborhood in October 2024. Since then, the club has earned a strong reputation for its player-centered programming that enhances the experience for all skill levels and promotes growth. Now, in partnership with My DUPR Coach, DUPR Coach, and DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating)—the global standard for pickleball skill assessment—PKLYN is taking the next bold step in its mission to provide players of all abilities with opportunities for challenging and enjoyable play. All coaches at PKLYN are now credentialed DUPR Coaches, with the ability to assess and rate players.

The introduction of DUPR Assessment Sessions and Events at PKLYN gives players the opportunity to work with credentialed coaches to assess their skills and receive a Coach-Assigned DUPR. This makes PKLYN the first official DUPR Assessment Center for pickleball in New York City and the surrounding metropolitan area. PKLYN will continue to host a robust calendar of DUPR events like round robin tournaments and leagues, providing additional opportunities for players to earn their ratings through matches. By creating pathways for fair and exciting play, PKLYN and DUPR are elevating the pickleball experience for all players and contributing to the growth of the sport.
